Tuesday, February 10, 2026, 5:30–7:00 PM

Levering Great Hall

Students in Professor Erin Chung’s Spring 2023 Comparative Racial Politics seminar conducted a pilot focus group interview with AAPI residents as part of a semester-long research project. This project aimed to document the voices and experiences of Baltimore’s AAPI community. The transcript was subsequently published in December 2025 by the Johns Hopkins Research Data Repository. This dataset is accessible for public download:

Chung, Erin Aeran, Matt Ervince S. Arcillo, Shekinah Z. Carroll, Vanessa L. Han, Kaitlyn Y. Jung, and Angela M. Tracy. 2025. Data Associated with: Critical Responses to Anti-Asian Violence (CRAAV) Focus Group Project. Johns Hopkins Research Data Repository, V1. https://doi.org/10.7281/T1/AP0SKY

To commemorate this release, CRAAV and the Chloe Center for the Critical Study of Racism, Immigration, and Colonialism hosted a launch event in February 2026 that featured student reflections on the community-based research process, followed by a community discussion of key concerns and issues affecting AAPI residents of Baltimore.
